Garmin Nuvi 200 Series

Garmin Nuvi 200 series is all set to hit the store shelves with set of fresh features for entry level Nuvi devices. It was speculated that the Garmin Nuvi 200 with its advanced features would replace other contenders like StreetPilot’s “c” series.

gemin-200The size of  the Garmin Nuvi 200 (9.7  x 7.1  x 2 cm) is quite similar to Nuvi 300 series; however, it is a bit thinner than other models. You can either have it in classic silver or in a flamboyant pink. The sliding power button makes power off or on more convenient for you. Sliding the button left turns the device on or off and sliding it to the right would lock the input with the device. This function is quite similar to the hold button of an iPod.

It has the SD card slot on its right side. The device doesn’t have a headphone jack as there is no MP3 player set with it. Garmin Nuvi 200 series helps you to get rid of the GPS antenna with flip up features.

One more interesting modification to the 200 series is made in the suction cup mount. This mount is very simple to assemble and you can quite easily adjust the device with the help of its ball and socket joint. In the 200 series the power cord directly makes connection with the in car GPS device.

The nüvi 200 has the preloaded City Navigator with NT 2-D/3-D map data for US, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and map of one European region or country. You can set specific destinations as points of interest or POI’s when the device alerts you of upcoming POI’s.

The slim and sleek design helps you to carry Nuvi 200 devices very comfortably in your pocket. It weighs just 5.2 ounces or 147.42 g. It is backed by rechargeable high-powered lithium-ion battery that can last for up to five hours.
